Logistics Education Forum Brings Academia & Workforce to the Same Table

The Center of Innovation for Logistics produced a report showing a concerning gap between logistics education and industry employment. The report, titled The Logistics of Education and the Education of Logistics: Exploring Supply and Demand of Logistics Workforce uncovered a decline in the number of students choosing logistics-related degrees and those entering into the logistics workforce after graduation.

Deal announces record year for Georgia’s Centers of Innovation

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that the Centers of Innovation, a division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, connected and assisted nearly 4,000 Georgia companies during 2014, up 30 percent from the previous fiscal year. “We are proud to offer this unique economic development resource to both companies that call Georgia home and those looking to locate here,” said Deal.

Logistics Market Snapshot – December Edition

Each month the Georgia Center of Innovation for Logistics publishes a Logistics Market Snapshot with key Logistics and Supply Chain figures and statistics. Included are several Multimodal, Trucking, Rail, Air, and Ocean Freight Indexes, Industrial Vacancy and Rent Rates and general economic indexes. Some selected encouraging statistics, including a results overview of the first part of the shopping season follow.
